Stations of the Cross

Lord Jesus Christ, I desire to walk with You on the way to Calvary.

Open my heart to the love revealed in Your Passion.

For the sorrow of my sins and the needs of the world,

grant me repentance, compassion, and faithful perseverance. Amen.

Though innocent, Jesus receives an unjust sentence in silence.

Lord, free me from cowardice and from judging others unjustly.

Give courage to all who suffer beneath false accusation or oppression.

Jesus embraces the instrument of His suffering for love of us.

Teach me to receive today’s duties and trials without bitterness,

and to carry them in union with You.

The weight of the Cross brings Jesus to the ground, yet He rises.

When I fall, save me from discouragement.

Give me humility to accept Your hand and begin again.

Jesus and Mary meet in a sorrow deeper than words.

Through Mary’s intercession, keep me close to You in suffering

and make me present to those who grieve.

Simon is pressed into service and finds himself beside the Savior.

Let me recognize You in burdens I did not choose

and help carry the crosses of others.

A small act of courage and tenderness honors the suffering Christ.

Imprint Your likeness on my heart, Lord,

and make me attentive to the person in front of me.

Jesus falls again under exhaustion and pain.

Strengthen those worn down by repeated failure, illness, or injustice.

Teach me patient perseverance.

Jesus turns compassion toward those who mourn for Him.

Give me tears of true repentance, not passing emotion,

and concern for the suffering my sins cause others.

Near the end, Jesus falls once more and rises once more.

When strength is gone, be my strength.

Bring all who are close to despair safely through this hour.

Jesus is stripped of dignity and exposed to shame.

Purify me of vanity and possessiveness.

Defend the dignity of every person who is humiliated or exploited.

Jesus answers violence with forgiveness.

Nail my sins to Your Cross and loosen every resentment in me.

Teach me to forgive as I have been forgiven.

Jesus entrusts His spirit to the Father and completes His sacrifice.

I adore Your saving love. Remember the dying, receive the dead,

and teach me to place my life in the Father’s hands.

The body of Jesus is received with sorrow and reverence.

Console all who hold the memory of someone they love.

Keep us faithful when hope seems silent.

The stone closes the tomb, but death will not have the final word.

When I cannot see what You are doing, deepen my hope.

Prepare me for the joy of Your Resurrection.

Crucified Lord Jesus, let the memory of Your Passion remain with me.

By Your Cross, pardon my sins, strengthen the suffering,

reconcile the divided, and draw the departed into eternal light.

May I die to sin, live in Your grace,

and follow You from the Cross to the Resurrection. Amen.
